The Tara Diaries Launch Party

By taraoram

Helloooooooooooooooooo everyone!

It’s the day after my launch party. I’m sitting in a writer’s room in Nashville right now and I’m on a little break so, I figured I would write a blog about last night’s events.

Brian is with me on this trip and I’m so happy he’s here with me! =)

Ok, so my day started early Tuesday morning. I did a voiceover for my show and some filming with Brian. We finished up around 2:30 PM and headed to the Gladstone Hotel for the launch party.

When we arrived at the Gladstone, I headed upstairs to my dressing room. As Buffy (my makeup artist..luv u!) was doing my makeup.I heard a knock on the door. I thought it was Ron or Brian. Nope! IT WAS MY

MAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya! I was a little excited! They flew in my mom from Newfoundland to be at my party. I didn’t cry at that moment…I just sat there in shock. I was so happy they did that. I have such an awesome team!!!!

Ron met me downstairs a couple minutes before my live performance. We chatted for a bit and it was a great moment for me. I was so happy to have him there with me before I went on stage. Thanks Ronald! You’re awesome! (Pound!)

I took the stage after the audience viewed my TV show trailer and music video. I performed a song called “538 Stars” and a song I wrote for my mom called “Living the Dream”.

It was my first performance playing guitar and I loved every minute of it! I thought for just one second that I could get through it without crying. AS IF!!!! My mom was sitting a few feet away from me! It took me 10 takes to sing “Living the Dream” in the studio without crying.

I began to talk about the song and why I wrote it. I completely lost it. Tears were flowing and the mascara was running. It was such a special time for me because although this song was written about my mom, it’s really a thank you to both of my parents. My Mom & Dad have supported me in this crazy dream of mine since I was a little girl. I will never be able to thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me.

After the show, I had short interviews with the press. It was nice to be able to talk to them again after Idol. At the end of the night, I tried to thank everyone who came out. If I missed anyone, THANK YOU so much for coming to this event.

Ted Ellis and Ron Kitchener

Thank you to my manager Ron & Ted Ellis for making this dream of mine a reality. Thank you to everyone at Henry Less Productions, CMT, RGK and Open Road for all of your endless hours of hard work. I appreciate it so much.

To Jill & Shelly Snell, my prayers are with Papa Snell. God Bless.

THANK YOU to my fans. This night wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Until next time!

xoxo
